I am back from Victoria. I had a great time catching up with friends and family, but it all went too fast. I had many memorable moments, but one that was pretty special was my trip to Daylesford. I have posted a photo of the main street from the top and boy was it cold.
Daylesford is a must see if you go to Victoria or are lucky enough to live there and if you do go, make sure you go to Purl’s Palace. Its an amazing yarn shop. I could have stayed there all day, but my trip was limited. Zoë and Andy are so nice and welcoming. The shop had a very trendy feel and cozy at the same time. They had everything from beautiful soft yarns to silks and great books. I have posted a photo of their shop. The photo is not all that flattering to what the place really looks like, but if you get on their site you will see for yourself. www.purlspalace.com
PS. here are some photos of my scarf that I was working on when I took my train trip to Threads & More.
The scarf is knitted on 5.5 needles, 20 stitches in 2K and 2P in hand spun silk and Angora. I then finished it off with 2 chain and double crochet along the bottom and then looped back with 2 chain and 7 lots of double crochet into each loop to give a rumple look. I then hand sewed fresh pearls into the bottoms part of the scarf that makes it look nice and feminine. I think it looks a bit vintage and its the sort of scarf you can dress up with a nice suit or casual with jeans. Anyway I hope you like it as it was heaps of fun to do.
Well till next time happy creating. Cheers

Hi Tracey, I just received my first order of your beautiful yarn.It is so gorgeous…. I am new to knitting so I can’t wait to show my purchase to the more experienced knitters at work. Not wasting any time getting started. Thanks for your advice about gauge of knitting needle. Perfect knitting day in Melbourne, cold and wet and I am sitting by a log fire…..Cheers, Leigh
